- Despite popular belief, his name is not Junior. His name is Charizard, after his late grandfather
- Protective of his father, who he believes to be a wussy. Evolved trying to protect him from murkrow.
- Works as a rescue pokemon with his trainer, who is a firefighter.
- Had his shoulder plate torn off while doing rescue work in the wake of Giovanni's reign of evil. Now has an iron plate where it used to be.
- Confused greatly by his brother Croconaw
