Quite possibly the stupidest thing Houndour has ever done. This article is still a work in progress.
After learning the move Solarbeam, Houndour had been attempting to use it as a long range means of assaulting unsuspecting water pokemon. After some practice attempts conducted away from his then home at the Valor Lakefront, Houndour found the basic Solarbeam to be lacking the punch he needed. So, he set out to try something a bit more drastic, by maxing his power out with repeated use of Nasty Plot and heading off to a suitable location to try and nuke Lake Valor itself with Solarbeam.
After announcing his intentions to everyone on twitter, he dragged his laptop with him to a good spot to aim at the lake from, presumably to inform the other pokemon of the results once he was done. Once he was ready, he started charging up a Solarbeam and, for whatever reason, continued tweeting during the process until it was ready to fire. The plan backfired quite literally, when the kickback from maxed out Solarbeam sent Houndour flying backwards into the air off into the horizon.
The resulting Solarbeam blast evaporated the water out of the lake, and ended up knocking Linoone unconscious, as he had previously mentioned that he was heading to a lake to dump Banette's pokeball underwater, and had actually headed to Lake Valor to do the deed.
As Houndour went flying through the air, he was caught by Azelf, who lived in the cave at the center of the lake and had been awakened by the blast. Azelf yelled at Houndour and hit him, having few effective options to use against his Dark type but wanting to get a clear message across. Houndour, however, still overwhelmed by what he'd just done and excited by being carried flying through the air didn't quite get the message, and once he was dropped back off where he'd started he was confused and annoyed. Also, having never actually seen Azelf before, he was completely unfamiliar with the nature of his savior and went onto twitter to try and get some answers about the pokemon who had just yelled at him and hit him for "no reason."
After calming down a bit, Houndour noticed that the empty lake bed gave him a convenient water-free path to the cave in the middle of the lake, and he headed off to investigate. Upon entering the cave, he found himself face to face with Azelf, who simply sat there and glared angrily at him. Houndour was pissed off, but wasn't really sure what to do, and trying to get help from the other pokemon on Twitter eventually revealed the identity of Azelf to him. However, Azelf was not simply sitting there glaring at Houndour, he was using Future Sight attacks on him to bypass his immunity to psychic attacks, in order to get a more painful message across.
By the time the attacks started hitting Houndour, he wasn't really sure what was happening, and he'd prepared to use a Dark Pulse in retaliation but was fainted before he could do it. In the meantime, Croconaw and Buizels, who was still weakened by the just passing event, Croconaw's Encounter, had arrived at the lake to try and tend to all the Pokemon injured by Houndour's Solarbeam. Azelf took Houndour's laptop and used his account to tell anyone else to stay out of his cave, and Houndour was left unconscious near the entrance to the cave. Buizels and Croconaw filled the lake back up with water attacks, and took Houndour back to the grass to try and tend to his injuries.
When Houndour awoke, he quickly discovered that he'd been almost entirely immobilized by Azelf. He claimed to not be in any pain, but was extremely irritated about his inability to move or defend himself. Croconaw and Buizels wanted to bring Houndour somewhere to tend to his condition, but he wanted nothing to do with going anywhere run by humans. Things got worse when the idea was brought up to take him on a train or a boat to a Pokemon Center, at which point Houndour started freaking out at the idea of being surrounded by humans and unable to even move. Croconaw picked Houndour up, and started dragging him off somewhere, while Houndour started yelling, swearing at him, roaring, and ultimately burning Croconaw with Will-o-Wisp just to get him to stop. Buizels tried to get Croconaw to stop as well by talking to him, and eventually the dragging stopped.
After this point, Buizels and Croconaw went off to deal with the continuing event, Croconaw's Encounter while Houndour sat immobilized in the grass.
Linoone spent this entire time unconscious, having been tended to by Buizels and Croconaw. Upon regaining consciousness he returned to what was left of the lake to find Banette's pokeball. By this time Banette was furious, threatening to kill Linoone at least.
Despite protests from Buizels and severely weakened lungs, Linoone took off with the ball and Banette. The two of them spent several days on a trip to find a former trainer.
AuraLucario appeared later to help with injured pokemon, and used his Aura techniques to help reverse Houndour's inability to move, but reversing the effect ended up leaving Houndour in a lot of pain which the immobilization had been suppressing. Tired of having to deal with the pain, but unable to sleep, Houndour eventually asked AuraLucario to use a fighting move to knock him unconscious again. He spent the rest of the night unconscious, and Buizels later carried him by Pidgeot to the Viridian City Gym to recover, where he later woke up and discovered beds for the first time in his life.
