RAMPARDOS is surprisingly smart for a dinosaur Pokemon. Since he was raised by a Poképaleontologist he's always had many books to read. Unfortunately, this has made him kind of a know-it-all. On every subject, for some reason. RAMPARDOS hates admitting he's wrong

Hobbies

RAMPARDOS likes mountain-climbing, and also enjoys a good spelunking adventure as well. However, his favourite pastimes are reading and proving others wrong.

History

Prehistory

RAMPARDOS started life as a CRANIDOS, living in Laurasia, roughly 65 million years ago. Then he was hit by a rock, and spent an unfathomable time as a fossil.

Revival

CRANIDOS was revived about 5 years ago from his own fossil, and taken in by a kindly poképaleontology professor, known as Prof. Octagon to his friends. The good professor instilled in young CRANIDOS a love of learning and books, and he inherited an appreciation for fossils due to the nature of his resurrection.

Life in the Underground

Unfortunately, RAMPARDOS' time with his trainer was not to last long, as the good professor was killed in a cave-in while excavating for fossils in the Sinnoh Underground Only two years after reviving CRANIDOS. Now without a trainer, RAMPARDOS set himself the task of improving the Underground's supports, so as to prevent any similar catastrophes from happening to others. RAMPARDOS spent the next several years in the Underground, helping pokémon and trainers alike, while also trading for and collecting fossils and books. It was during this time that RAMPARDOS joined the ROCK CREW.

Leaving Sinnoh

In recent months, however, RAMPARDOS has made increasingly frequent trips away from home. Finally, with the return of Byron from space with laser-shovel-vision, RAMPARDOS felt the Underground was safe enough to leave for an extended time, and traveled to Kanto to stay in the new ROCK CREW base in Mt. Moon. He then decided to help dig a Kanto Underground, because giant cave systems are totally awesome. Unfortunately, while ttempting to harness magma from the earth's liquid hot core, RAMPARDOS was swept away with AGGRON to parts unknown.

Becoming a Rock CHAMPION

...And ended up in Unova, where he and several other members of the ROCK CREW decided to take part in the Gym Challenge, whether anyone said they could or not. The team swept through most of the gyms, being held up mainly by Driftveil Gym's team of Ground-types. Finally, 8 Bdges in hand, the team took on the Elite 4, and emerged victorious! They now claim to hold the collective position of Unova Champion, despite not being registered with the region's League, nor even having beaten all opponents required. They claim to have left Alder in charge as "Acting Champion," as RAMPARDOS and the ROCK CREW are uninterested in the dy-to-day affairs of running a Pokémon League.

ROCK CREW Membership

RAMPARDOS joined up with the ROCK CREW after the death of his trainer, Professor Octagon. He was one of the first members, second only to founders AGGRON and GOLEM. As the smartest and most well-spoken member, RAMPARDOS has long served as a diplomat of sorts for the ROCK CREW. He has also taken up the role of CORSOLA's private tutor.
